Tome has traveled an interesting arc: it began as the AI storytelling presentation tool, and after user behavior told the founders something honest, it pivoted hard into AI-powered sales and GTM presentations — which in 2026 makes it one of the more purposeful tools in the pitch category. The current product watches how your team sells and auto-generates the decks that stage demands: personalized outbound decks assembled per prospect from your CRM data, discovery-call follow-ups structured to what was actually said, and QBR templates pre-filled with account metrics.

What we liked in testing is that Tome measures itself. Analytics show which slides prospects linger on, which pages they skip, and whether the deck was even opened — turning presentations from a fire-and-forget artifact into a funnel signal your reps can act on. The generative quality is strong for sales collateral: clean layouts, persuasive structure, and personalization tokens that pull real context rather than {FirstName} sloppiness.

The tradeoff is scope: this is no longer a general-purpose slide tool. Creative storytelling decks, classroom presentations, and design-heavy work belong in Gamma, Beautiful.ai, or PowerPoint, and users wanting the original Tome experience should know it is gone. Pricing targets revenue teams (~$20-60 per user per month), positioned against the pipeline value it claims to add. For sales organizations drowning in deck assembly — the unglamorous hours between calls — Tome is a genuine time machine; for everyone else, the alternatives fit better.
